t’s official: 2024 is the year of the New York Yankees. Yes, I know 2023 was meant to be that, and 2022, and 20… but this year really is. The winter has seen them recruit Juan Soto, adding another big bat to an offense that already included the likes of Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton and Anthony Rizzo.
They’ll all stay healthy, and MVP-in-waiting Soto will help them breeze to the AL East title. He’ll beat Judge’s home run record, with 99 chasing him down all the way to October.
Gerrit Cole will also seal back-to-back Cy Young Awards, leading a formidable bullpen that also sees Carlos Rodon and Nestor Cortes shine.
In October, The Bombers will fly through the ALDS, before winning the Championship Series in six. In the World Series the Yankees’ will be too much for the Dodgers. No matter that they have Shohei Ohtani. No matter that Yoshinobu Yamamoto turned down the Bronx for LA. Their time will come, but in 2024, it’s party time on the streets of New York City.
