The Miami Dolphins are apparently going to split ways with a Super Bowl-winning pass rusher this offseason. Because of their cap position, the Dolphins plan to make a number of roster changes this offseason.
The Miami Dolphins have cap difficulties.
According to Over The Cap, the Dolphins are over $38 million in debt with only a few weeks till free agency. Analysts believe the Dolphins may trade quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and/or wide receiver Jaylen Waddle due to salary cap problems. Tyreek Hill, a star wide receiver, stated this week that he wants both to remain in Miami for the 2024 season.
The Dolphins are scheduled to release Emmanuel Ogbah
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Dolphins plan to release veteran linebacker Emmanuel Ogbah on Friday. Ogbah signed a four-year contract worth $65 million after the 2021 season.
Ogbah won the Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs.
However, ailments plagued Ogbah during the first year of his contract. He ended the 2022 season on injured reserve after suffering a ruptured triceps in Week 9. Ogbah ended the 2023 regular season with 19 total tackles, five sacks, and one interception.
Ogbah, who is from Nigeria, won the Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs during the 2019 season.
Would the Chiefs be interested in luring Ogbah back to Kansas City?
