“It Didn’t Take Them Long To Get On The Same Page” Joe Brady’s Impact: Buffalo Bills Succeed Under New Offensive Coordinator

The Buffalo Bills fired offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey on November 14 after the team fell to the Denver Broncos in Week 10. Joe Brady replaced Dorsey as the Bills’ interim defensive coordinator and quarterback coach.

Under Brady’s leadership, the offense improved dramatically, and the new balance allowed quarterback Josh Allen to focus more on rushing. He was elevated to offensive coordinator after achieving great performance.

This was his second promotion in his career, and he served as offensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers from 2020 to 2021. Brady has served as the Bills’ quarterback coach since 2022.

According to Pro Football Talk, the Buffalo Bills’ general manager, Brandon Beane, stated at the scouting combine that the relationship between Allen and Brady has remained solid even after Brady took over as play caller.

Beane mentions, “It wasn’t like they had to get to know each other and it’s so important for that play-caller to have the feel of what fits this quarterback, what fits this offense. So it didn’t take them long to get on the same page and I thought they really did a nice job and it’ll be fun to watch.

“I know Josh and Joe had conversations after the season about where we want to take the offense, things that we want to keep and things that we want to tweak. And so those are being worked on now. I know Joe will check in with Josh here and there, but always looking forward to seeing how our offense will evolve and I know Joe’s excited about it as well.”

With Brady, the Buffalo Bills achieved great success and went on to defeat six teams out of their seven matchups. The Bills also won the AFC East title however their fantastic run ended with the Chiefs. With the ongoing chemistry and further improvements both Brady and Allen could achieve incredible offensive structure for the next season.
