West Ham United are reportedly planning a summer move for 26-year-old Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke.
According to the Daily Telegraph, West Ham United are interested in Dominic Solanke. The Hammers are looking for a striker ahead of the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, Newcastle United is interested in signing the 26-year-old Bournemouth forward.
The Rise of Dominic Solanke in the Premier League
Since Bournemouth’s return to the Premier League, Dominic Solanke has established himself as one of the league’s greatest strikers. The Englishman needed some time to find his feet in his career, having failed to make an impression at Chelsea and Liverpool. However, he has not looked back in the last 8 months.
The 26-year-old helped Bournemouth avoid relegation in the 2022/23 season. He has taken his performances to the next level this season, with 16 goals and four assists in 28 games across all competitions thus far. Meanwhile, Solanke’s improvement has caught the eye of numerous Premier League clubs.
High-profile teams including Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have expressed interest in the English striker. In addition, West Ham United and Newcastle United are interested in signing the Bournemouth forward during the summer transfer window. Meanwhile, the Cherries are ready for proposals on Solanke.
West Ham, Newcastle United Want Dominic Solanke.
West Ham’s interest in Dominic Solanke is understandable. Michail Antonio and Danny Ings are past their prime, and both could depart West Ham during the summer transfer window. With Jarrod Bowen playing as a striker, the Hammers require a proven centre-forward, making the Bournemouth player a realistic option.
Newcastle United briefly mulled a winter transfer for Solanke. However, a move did not occur since the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules prohibited them from entering the market for a signing. However, with Callum Wilson’s future uncertain at St. James’ Park, Newcastle United require a successor.
Bournemouth will most likely expect a premium to part ways with Solanke during the summer transfer window. So it’ll be intriguing to see if West Ham and Newcastle United can afford him.
