The Miami Dolphins extended a crucial component of their offence ahead of the 2024 season. This offseason, the Dolphins added a few pass-catchers to their offence.
The Miami Dolphins have added to their offence this offseason.
The squad is looking to add more firepower for a postseason push after only scoring seven points in their Wild Card loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. They made certain to extend one man on the roster who has been a mainstay in Mike McDaniel’s offence.
Raheem Mostert received an extension.
According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Dolphins have extended running back Raheem Mostert’s contract by two years for $9.075 million.
Mostert ran more than 1,000 yards in 2023.
Last season, Mostert rushed for 1,012 yards and 18 touchdowns, with three more in the passing game.
Tua Tagovailoa, the quarterback, will benefit greatly from Mostert’s extension. Tua requires a strong running game to help open up his throwing attack. They will need their backfield to play a bigger role in the playoffs. In their January loss against the Chiefs, the Dolphins only rushed for 76 yards.
