The Jacksonville Jaguars sign three players to contract extensions ahead of the 2024 league year.
JACKSONVILLE — The Jacksonville Jaguars have inked contract extensions with offensive lineman Ezra Cleveland, safety Daniel Thomas, and defensive lineman Jeremiah Ledbetter, the organization announced Monday.
Jacksonville acquired Cleveland through a trade with Minnesota on October 31 of last year. In 2023, he played nine games for Jacksonville, making six starts, after starting six for Minnesota. The Spanaway, Wash. native spent the first three seasons of his career with Minnesota, appearing in 62 games with 54 starts over his four-year career.
Originally from Montgomery, Ala., Thomas was drafted by Jacksonville in the fifth round (157th overall) of the 2020 NFL Draft. In four seasons with the Jaguars, he has played in 56 games and has recorded 43 total tackles (31 solo), two passes defensed and one interception. Thomas has also posted 18 total tackles (14 solo) on special teams.
Ledbetter was originally drafted in the sixth round (205th overall) by the Detroit Lions in the 2017 NFL Draft, where he played in 16 games. He has spent time with Tampa Bay, Baltimore and Arizona, playing in four games from 2018-2020. In 2021, Ledbetter signed to Jacksonville’s practice squad before signing to the active roster in December 2022. In his career, the Gainesville, Ga. native has recorded 42 total tackles (16 solo), eight quarterback hits, two tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and one fumble recovery.
