Justin Fields, the new Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, had a message for the Chiefs Bears after his trade was reported Saturday evening. The Bears traded Fields to the Steelers in exchange for a sixth-round pick in 2025.
The Pittsburgh Steelers received a steal for their quarterback.
Depending on playing time, the sixth-round pick might become a fourth-round pick. However, considering Fields’ role as Russell Wilson’s backup next season, the Bears are unlikely to earn the fourth-round pick.
Justin Fields sent a message to Chicago.
Even though Fields isn’t expected to be the starter, the fourth-year quarterback stated in a statement Saturday that he is eager for his next opportunity. Fields thanked the city of Chicago and the Bears.
“I can’t thank the city of Chicago enough for welcoming and embracing me. Thank you to the whole Bears organisation and ownership for giving me the opportunity to be a part of such a legendary franchise. Most importantly, I’d like to thank all of my brothers with whom I played.

Fields required a break from the Bears.
Fields’ route to becoming a starter for Pittsburgh (or any NFL team) will not be simple, but he is optimistic about leaving Chicago. Frankly, he needed a break from the Bears.
It is feasible that Fields will have an opportunity to impress the Steelers coaching staff during the 2024 season.
