The Pittsburgh Steelers acquired Donte Jackson in a trade.
Jackson was scheduled to have a cap hit of $10.52 million for the 2024 season, and both parties agreed to restructure his contract.

According to Jason Fitzgerald of Over The Cap, Pittsburgh and Jackson agreed to a 1-year, $6 million contract with a $4.75 million signing bonus. As a result, his base salary dropped to $1.25 million, and his cap hit dropped to $6 million for 2024.
This move should free up around $4 million, and the team should have $15.6 million in cap space.
Jackson played in nine games, starting nine in 2022, and had 35 tackles, one for a loss, two interceptions, one pick-six, and three pass deflections. He allowed 37 receptions on 49 targets for 340 yards, two touchdowns, and a 90.5 passer rating. He suffered a torn Achilles in Week 10 and missed the rest of the season.
Jackson played in 16 games, starting 16 in 2023, and had 59 tackles, five for a loss, five pass deflections, and one forced fumble. He allowed 45 receptions on 67 targets for 558 yards, three touchdowns, and a 107.7 passer rating.
The new cornerback will be joining forces with a talented young corner.
Jackson will join a talented young corner in Joey Porter Jr.
Porter Jr. had an impressive rookie campaign playing in 17 games, starting 11, and had 43 tackles, one for a loss, one interception, and ten pass deflections. He allowed 30 receptions on 63 targets for 449 yards, one touchdown, and a 70.1 passer rating, placing 5th in the Defensive Rookie of the Year voting.
