REPORT: Tennessee Titans’ star offensive weapon and four-time Pro Bowler set to end his contract as part of a double deal.

The world is changing, and what may be the weirdest development of all is the appearance of a new bright, glittering renamed AFC South, which is actually, somehow, beneficial.

For the first time in a long time, three of the four teams in the AFC South have legitimate expectations: the Indianapolis Colts were one catch away from the playoffs with a backup quarterback, Gardner Minshew, replacing their impressive rookie QB, Anthony Richardson, for the majority of the season after suffering a season-ending shoulder injury.

The Houston Texans shocked the NFL world by reaching the AFC divisional stage with rookie star CJ Stroud, while the Jacksonville Jaguars still have franchise quarterback Trevor Lawrence and a fairly strong roster led by Super Bowl-winning head coach Doug Peterson.

Yet, for the Tennessee Titans, having fired Mike Vrabel before getting the chance to trade him, in order to get a start on the year’s head coaching market, are very much in rebuilding mode with last year’s rookie 2nd round pick, Will Levis.

As such, many pieces of the old guard, like former franchise quarterback, Ryan Tannehill and star defensive lineman, Denico Autry. And now, quite possibly former Offensive Player of the Year, Derrick Henry, could all be expendable, per Jeremy Fowler.

How will the Tennessee Titans perform without Derrick Henry?

Nobody truly knows right now. While he has had an illustrious career, he is no longer the destructive, bulldozing force that he was in his heyday, when he led the Titans to an AFC Championship game against eventual victors (as always) the Kansas City Chiefs.

Even this year, he was productive, rushing for 1,167 yards and 12 touchdowns while averaging 4.2 yards per carry, which is decent but not lethal.

The Titans will also be boosted by the remarkable play of youngster Tyjae Spears, who had a great rookie season despite largely being deployed as the third-down back.

The Titans’ season will almost certainly rely upon the play of Will Levis above all else, however, a strong running game could be a harbinger of success in Nashville.

Let’s see if the TennesseeTitans do in fact jettison Henr, and bring in a new back this year to replace him, or if they are able to figure out his contract and ride it back with the veteran another year.
