Russell Wilson reacts to Kenny Pickett’s emotional farewell message for Pittsburgh steelers following the Eagles trade.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have made a significant shift in their quarterback room, with Russell Wilson and Justin Fields joining Coach Mike Tomlin’s team. Kenny Pickett, the Steelers’ former quarterback, is now in Philadelphia and just broke his silence on his alleged feud with the team.

Steelers supporters were also pleased to learn that new starting quarterback Russell Wilson has embraced Fields with open arms.

Pickett posted a statement on Instagram on Sunday that would make Pittsburgh fans emotional.

Pickett’s Detailed Farewell Message.

In an Instagram post, the former University of Pittsburgh player revealed that the Steel City transformed his life. Pickett had many exhilarating moments with the franchise, but he did not live up to the team’s championship-winning aspirations. The new Eagles quarterback also stated that he has been a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles since he was a child and is excited about his new career opportunity.

Thank you, Pittsburgh. I moved to this city seven years ago, and it changed my life forever. I’m grateful for all of the fantastic people I’ve met and for everyone who has supported me along the journey. I formed lifelong friendships and ties that I will always treasure. Now, I’m honoured and enthusiastic for the next step in my career: playing for the team that helped me discover my passion for the game as a kid. Go, Birds!!

Now that Coach Tomlin appears to be heading into training camp later this year with Wilson as the projected starter at quarterback, the attention has switched to the 2024 NFL Draft in Detroit. Pittsburgh will want to upgrade numerous important positions, including centre, cornerback, and offensive tackle. Another passing weapon for Wilson and Fields might be brought aboard Coach Tomlin’s ship.

The Steelers’ draft slots were finalized this past weekend. The team will select 20th in the first round and has an extra third round pick (#98 overall) thanks to the Pickett trade.
