The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed American receiver K.J. Hill.
The six-foot, 196-pound receiver had 201 receptions in 50 career games at Ohio State University, beating the previous mark set by former NFL Pro Bowl selection David Boston. He finished his collegiate career with 2,332 receiving yards, 20 touchdown receptions, and three Big Ten championships.
The 26-year-old was a seventh-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Chargers. He dressed for 21 games over two seasons with the team, recording 10 receptions for 103 yards.
The native of Little Rock, Ark. ran a 4.60-second forty-yard dash at the NFL Combine along with a 32.5-inch vertical jump, 114-inch broad jump, and 17 reps of 225 pounds on the bench press.
Winnipeg now has a vacancy in their receiving corps because Rasheed Bailey was not retained in free agency. The four-year veteran has recently signed with the Toronto Argonauts.
The Blue Bombers will meet the Grey Cup champion Montreal Alouettes at Princess Auto Stadium on Thursday, June 6, to kick off the 2024 regular season.
