PC’s Devin Carter declares for the NBA Draft.
Providence, Rhode Island (WPRI) — Devin Carter has announced plans to quit Providence College and enter the 2024 NBA Draft.
Carter took to social media Wednesday to show his gratitude and affection for Friartown.
“After a lot of reflection and discussions with those closest to me, I’ve reached a decision that marks both an end and a beginning,” Carter said in a statement. “I will be forgoing my senior year at Providence College to enter the 2024 NBA Draft.”
Carter stated that his time in Providence has come to an end, but he is not saying goodbye.
“It’s just a new chapter in this incredible journey from God. I am thrilled about what lies ahead and am committed to making all of you proud as I take this next step,” Carter continued.
Carter enjoyed a standout junior season, winning Big East Player of the Year and leading his team to a deep Big East Tournament run.
Carter scored about 20 points each game and grabbed roughly nine rebounds.
According to ESPN, Carter is presently ranked 17th in the draft.
He also has familial links to the NBA. His father, Anthony Carter, played in the league for 13 years and is now an assistant coach with the Memphis Grizzlies.
