GREAT NEWS: The Providence Friars have signed a two-year agreement with the Creighton Bluejays for a shooting guard.

Providence acquires shooting guard Alyn Breed.

Providence has added a shooting guard pledge to the class of 2020 prospect.

The Providence Friars have been hoping to add depth on the perimeter in the 2020 class, and that process began on Saturday with the commitment of Alyn Breed, he revealed. Breed, a Georgia native, represented AOT in the Nike EYBL this spring and summer.

Breed, who is around 6-foot-3 and has decent athleticism, shone briefly with AOT this spring and summer. He can shoot. Breed averaged 10.3 points per game for AOT in EYBL play overall, but he improved his numbers when it counted most in the Peach Jam. There, he averaged 15 points per game and shot over 50% from the field.

Breed, who was originally a member of the 2019 class, has recently reclassified and will join the IMG Academy post-graduate team this year.

Breed confirmed his commitment on social media, making him the first player in the 2020 class to vow to Ed Cooley and his staff.

Providence is aiming to add some huge talent to this class and is pursuing three high-profile candidates who will all be visiting over the next two months.

Expect the Friars to continue to add to this class, and Breed provides a scoring option at the two-guard position who can defend and shoot in the Big East.
