The Miami Dolphins had a good 2023-24 NFL season under head coach Mike McDaniel. Tyreek Hill, a superstar wide receiver under McDaniel’s playcalling, received unanimous first-team All-Pro honors after racking up almost 1,800 yards and 13 touchdowns. Despite a respectable 11-6 record, the Miami Dolphins nearly missed out on home-field advantage in their Wildcard game, losing to the back-to-back Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs in sub-zero weather.
Tyreek Hill totaled only 62 yards and caught the Dolphins’ only touchdown in 2024’s semifinal game. In what can be dubbed Tyreek Hill’s “revenge game,” the offense was out of sync and couldn’t get any traction against one of the NFL’s finest defenses. Tyreek Hill recently disclosed that Mike McDaniels interrogated him about his performance following the game.

Tyreek Hill appeared on the ‘Million Dollaz Worth of Game’ podcast and shared the specific language Mike McDaniel told him in the film room following the playoff defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs. The play that started the flame was one that went viral on social media, one that saw Hill pinned to the ground at the line of scrimmage by standout cornerback L’Jarious Sneed.
“He pulled me out and said, ‘Reek, you’re supposed to be the best player in the league, and this guy is putting his hands all over you like that. “What are we paying you all this money for?” Hill stated on the ‘Million Dollaz Worth of Game’ podcast. “And for me, I love s-t like that because I’m going to take it to heart and grow from it. It would never happen again in my life. If someone can’t keep me accountable, I don’t think I’ll be able to improve.”
