Aaron Glenn Will Be The New Orleans Saints’ Next Head Coach.

It was reported on ESPN NFL live Aaron Glenn is the top candidate to be the next head coach of the New Orleans Saints by Adam Schefter. Back in November, the New Orleans Saints fired their former head coach Dennis Allen after seven straight losses, a streak that was the longest in New Orleans Saints franchise history dating back to 1999. Assistant head coach Darren Rizzi was named interim head coach to fill in while the Saints look search for a new head coach. The New Orleans Saints have been in a bit of a rebuild defensively, letting Trey Hendrickson go in free agency to the Cincinnati Bengals.

The New Orleans Saints traded away shutdown cornerback Marshon Lattimore to the Washington Commanders for a third, fourth, and sixth round pick, a sign that the team wants to clear their salary cap to rebuild the defense and get younger in the secondary. It also says that the New Orleans Saints are far away from contending to win the NFC South Division in the post Drew Brees and Sean Payton era.

The New Orleans Saints defense is near the bottom of the NFL, allowing 376.6 yards per game. Aaron Glenn would be an excellent choice as head coach of the New Orleans Saints, helping to restore a once-proud and dominant team. Aaron Glenn is presently the defensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions, working under head coach Dan Campbell’s staff and has a 14-of-32 rating. This is especially impressive given the Detroit Lions defense’s injuries, which include standout defensive end Aiden Hutchinson’s season-ending injury.

Aaron Glenn is a player’s coach and a former cornerback who excelled while playing for the New York Jets. Aaron Glenn, as a former player and the architect of Dan Campbell’s grit defense in Detroit, has created a cache to be a priority hire by NFL teams when pink slips Monday arrives following the NFL’s final regular season game, and ownership, dissatisfied with their current coaches, decides to take a fresh approach.
