Dallas Cowboys guard Zack Martin has been nominated for the NFL’s Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award. The award is the league’s most prestigious. Each year, one player from each team is nominated, a player who exemplifies honor not only on the field, but off it as well.
“The Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award celebrates Walter’s enduring legacy of excellence on the field and compassion off it,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. “This award is the league’s most prestigious honor, and we are proud to recognize these 32 outstanding men for the positive impact they make in their communities every day.”
It is no surprise to the Cowboys to see their Zack Martin on that list.
Zack Martin nominated for Walter Payton Man of the Year – Cowboys surprise him
To let Martin know he’d been nominated, the Cowboys gave Martin presents while he was with his wife and children. They received jerseys with “2024 Man of the Year” written on them. This was his sweet reaction. Not only is Martin a nine-time All-Pro (seven-time First-Team), nine-time Pro Bowler, member of the NFL 2010’s All-Decade Team, and a future Hall of Famer, but he is a standup guy off the field as well. Throughout his 11 seasons with Dallas, Martin has been committed to the community, through involvement with the National Medal of Honor Museum, the Salvation Army, the Make a Wish foundation, the Frisco Fire Department and first responders, and much more.
