Dennis Allen sent a message to Gayle Benson, owner of the New Orleans Saints, after signing a new contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Subject: Gratitude and Reflection on My Time with the Saints

Dear Mrs. Benson,

I hope this message finds you well. As I reflect on my journey, I wanted to personally reach out to you to express my deepest gratitude for the incredible opportunity you provided me during my time as the head coach of the New Orleans Saints.

Under your leadership and the unwavering support of the organization, we built something special in New Orleans. I take immense pride in what we accomplished together—the tough battles, the unforgettable moments, and the unwavering spirit of our team. From the players to the staff, everyone shared a commitment to excellence, and it was a privilege to lead such a remarkable group of individuals.

Although my decision to join the Pittsburgh Steelers marks a new chapter in my career, the memories and lessons I gained from my time with the Saints will stay with me forever. I have the utmost respect for the Saints organization, the city of New Orleans, and, of course, the incredible fan base. Your leadership and vision have made the Saints not only a competitive team but a model of consistency and respect in the NFL.

I want to thank you again for your belief in me and the opportunity to serve as head coach. The Saints will always hold a special place in my heart, and I will continue to cheer for the team’s success from afar.

Wishing you, the team, and the entire New Orleans organization nothing but the best as you continue to build on the strong foundation we worked so hard to lay.

Warm regards,
Dennis Allen
