“So sad to let him go” Chicago Bears GM Ryan Poles is still heartbroken after trading Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Chicago Bears general manager spoke on “the Pat McAfee Show” to discuss the Justin Fields trade.

Ryan Poles, the Bears’ general manager, appeared on the Pat McAfee Show (ESPN) to address the decision to trade Justin Fields. Anthony DiGuilio, “Tone Digs,” a member of The Pat McAfee Show, host of the sports betting podcast Hammer Dahn, and a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan, inquired about who he was getting in the Justin Fields trade.

Chicago Bears Say Goodbye.
The story of Justin Fields’ leaving has been recounted numerous times, but hearing Poles speak emphasises the severity of the decision. Fans and members of the organisation were reluctant to say goodbye to Fields, but it was necessary.

In retrospect, the Bears never gave Fields the opportunity to succeed. The firings of former head coach Matt Nagy and former general manager Ryan Pace during Fields’ rookie season marked the beginning of the end. Fields had every potential to achieve but failed. Fields can be faulted, but the real responsibility should go on ownership and their lack of vision for this gifted young kid.

Greener pastures are ahead.
GM Ryan Poles and head coach Matt Eberflus have essentially reaffirmed their decision on the first overall pick. Caleb Williams is anticipated to return to the Bears next season, and there should be plenty of hope.

Caleb Williams is being referred to as a “generational talent,” and fans should be just as delighted as Eberflus and Poles are. Williams showed up for his Pro Day, and he has since been the talk of the town as the first overall choice.

Poles Preparing the Bears for the Future.

Fans should agree that it is encouraging to that Ryan Poles care, but he is still putting the organisation first. Being a “player-first” GM will get you respect throughout the league, but it will only go you so far if it does not lead to long-term success.

If Caleb proves to be the projected talent, Poles has assembled an impressive lineup to help him succeed. The Bears traded for D.J. Moore along with the pick that allowed the Bears a chance to choose Caleb, traded for Montez Sweat during the season, then traded for Keenan Allen this past offseason, among hundreds of other moves, to generate an above-average roster.

Bears fans should rejoice at Ryan Poles’ maneuvers and what they mean for the Bears’ future.
