Done deal Alexander Isak has finally join Arsenal has January transfer agreement in place
As of January 9, 2025, there is no official confirmation that Alexander Isak has joined Arsenal. Recent reports indicate that Arsenal has shown interest in the Swedish striker, but no transfer agreement has been finalized.
Isak, currently playing for Newcastle United, has been in exceptional form, scoring 15 goals this season and attracting attention from top clubs, including Arsenal. Newcastle has reportedly placed a £150 million price tag on Isak to deter potential suitors.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has acknowledged Isak’s quality, especially after his performance against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup semi-final, where he scored a crucial goal. Arteta stated, “He made the difference today; his quality is there for everyone to see.”
Despite Arsenal’s interest, Newcastle legend Alan Shearer has advised against selling Isak, even for a substantial fee, emphasizing the difficulty in finding a replacement of his caliber. Shearer remarked, “You don’t sell your best players if you want to progress, and Isak is vital for Newcastle’s ambitions.”
Arsenal is currently evaluating their transfer options, especially after injuries to key players like Bukayo Saka. Club legend Paul Merson has urged Arsenal to “break the bank” for Isak, suggesting he would be a better fit than other potential targets.
However, as of now, no official agreement has been reached between Arsenal and Newcastle for Isak’s transfer. The situation remains fluid, and any developments will depend on negotiations between the clubs and the player’s willingness to move.
