The Boston Bruins have been quite active this summer, signing players like as Elias Lindholm, Nikita Zadorov, Max Jones, and others to their lineup. However, GM Don Sweeney still has work to do, since Jeremy Swayman is still unsigned toward the end of the first week of July.
Swayman, 25, is a restricted free agent who will earn a hefty bump from last season’s $3.475 million cap cost. He got it through an arbitration hearing last offseason, and the Alaska native didn’t like the process
The Bruins can still file for arbitration with their star netminder, but they have until Saturday at 5 p.m. ET to do so. One year later, Swayman has decided not to pursue salary arbitration this time, which could indicate that he believes a deal with the Bruins is not far away.
Last season, Swayman participated in 44 regular-season games, finishing 25-10-8 with a.916 save percentage and a 2.53 goals-against average. He subsequently had a terrific postseason, with a.933 SV% in 12 games.
