At Indianapolis, Kyle Larson still has “one more to check off”.

After winning on Sunday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Kyle Larson expressed his desire to return to the legendary track frequently in the 2025 season.

After making a mistake on pit road on lap 130 of the 160-lap race that was initially scheduled, Larson started the race from 23rd. He went on to lead the first overtime and won the Brickyard 400 when a caution was shown on the last lap of the second overtime.

Larson was already looking forward to his next race on the 2.5-mile oval when he gave his first interview following the event. “Fans of Indiana, I adore you.

The audience erupted in applause as he replied, “I know you guys adore me, too. “How about we try to kiss these bricks in an Indianapolis 500 next May?”

A win in the Indianapolis 500 is definitely possible, and it appears that a comeback appearance is in the plans.

As part of his effort at “The Double,” which involves competing in both the 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR Cup race on the same day over Memorial Day weekend, Larson made his debut in the IndyCar Series at this year’s Indianapolis 500 is in the works – and a victory is not out of the question.

Larson made his IndyCar Series debut in this year’s Indy 500 – part of his attempt at ‘The Double’ – running the 500 and Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR Cup race on the same day during Memorial Day weekend.

Mother Nature had other plans, however.

Rain in Indianapolis delayed the start of the 500 for several hours, which forced Larson to miss the start of the 600. Once he arrived in Charlotte for that race, it had already been red flagged for rain and was never restarted.

As it turned out, missing the 600 didn’t hurt Larson’s NASCAR season – he leads the series standings and now has four wins – but the aborted ‘Double’ left an unfulfilled feeling.
