angel Reese stays consistent in her support for Chicago Sky head coach Teresa Weatherspoon, ignoring any criticism directed at her. Following the Sky’s sixth loss in the previous ten games on Sunday, several supporters began demanding for Weatherspoon’s dismissal.

Reese took On social media, she issued a strong warning to anybody criticising Weatherspoon, stating her intolerance for any harsh statements about the coach, who is only in her first season as team captain.

“One thing I don’t play with is T-Spoon, so don’t even attempt it. That’s something I don’t accept at all,” Reese wrote.

Weatherspoon’s Career
Weatherspoon formerly worked as an assistant coach for the NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans before becoming the head coach of the Chicago Sky.

Her coaching career began in 2007 with the Westchester Phantoms of the American Basketball Association. The five-time WNBA All-Star then coached at Louisiana Tech from 2008 to 2014 before taking a break from coaching. Weatherspoon returned to the league in 2020 with the Pelicans before joining the Sky last October.

Meanwhile, Reese has succeeded under Weatherspoon’s direction. Reese has received extensive playing time and is smashing records. She just set a new WNBA record for the longest double-double streak, outlasting Candace Parker with 13 games. This season, Reese is averaging 14.1 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 1.5 steals in 20 games.
