Atlanta successfully completed a big trade with Boston…..

Atlanta made a big trade with Boston to acquire seven-time All Star left-hander Sale in exchange for Grissom, a young infield prospect with promise. Sale made just 11 starts from 2020 to 22 due to injuries, so the team is hoping he can make a consistent impact in the starting lineup.

“I know that will be a topic, and there is a health history,” stated Alex Anthopoulos, president of baseball operations for the Braves. However, we believe he is a starter who can compete for a postseason spot, and that is what we were looking for this offseason. We will make every effort to keep him on the mound.”

Stephens pitched two scoreless innings with two strikeouts in his appearance against the Nationals on Sept. 30. In five games this season, the right-hander had a 3.00 ERA with 11 strikeouts across 12 innings. (Last updated: Oct. 13)
