QB Jeff Driskel, formerly of the Detroit Lions, has signed a new contract with the Washington Commanders to continue his NFL career.
Another former Detroit Lion has found a new home in the NFC East, as quarterback Jeff Driskel has signed with the Washington Commanders. Driskel has now played for seven different NFL organisations in his career.
The Washington Commanders are Driskel’s seventh NFL squad.
Driskel’s football career began in college, where he represented both Florida and Louisiana Tech. He was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the 2016 NFL Draft, which marked the beginning of his professional career. Driskel has since travelled extensively as a quarterback, having played for the Lions, Houston Texans, Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals, and Cleveland Browns.
Driskel made his first start for the Lions during the 2019 NFL season after starter Matthew Stafford was injured. Driskel was named the starter for Detroit’s game against the Chicago Bears, where he threw one touchdown and one interception for 269 passing yards. He later had two touchdown passes and 209 passing yards in a loss against the Dallas Cowboys.
Driskel’s NFL career record as a starter is 1-11, with 2,394 passing yards, 16 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.
