Bubba Wallace’s spotter points to the leading driver as Martin Truex Jr.’s replacement.

Freddie Kraft, Bubba Wallace’s spotter, thinks that the Joe Gibbs Racing organization would reveal Chase Briscoe’s major signing soon.

He feels that the Joe Gibbs Racing team did not want to completely rebuild the #19 team with a new driver, which is why they are looking for Stewart Haas Racing’s #14 driver. Martin Truex Jr., who drives the #19 Toyota Camry for JGR, announced his retirement last week, before of the Iowa Corn 350. Since then, there has been conjecture over who will replace him in the 2025 season.

According to the Athletic, Chase Briscoe is the most likely candidate to be signed as the next Joe Gibbs Racing driver for the #19 Toyota.

“I think everybody’s seen the rumors of Chase Briscoe’s getting into 19. I think you could probably expect an announcement on that in the next week or so. […] I don’t think they wanted to start a rebuild. You don’t want to put a Corey Hein, you know, or you know, so who else you gonna get? You know, there’s the Eric Jones out there maybe, but do you really want to poach a driver from another Toyota team?” he said.

He emphasized his comment on the recent ESPN report where he wrote, “Permanent charters don’t cost anything.” Hamlin claimed the only thing making charters permanent would cost is control.

The 23XI Racing co-owner explained that every agreement gets renegotiated after a new TV contract. Hamlin claimed that it’s not like the teams are saying they need a certain amount of money “for the eternity.”What the teams want, as per Denny Hamlin, is that as long as they are a part of the sport, they need a certain amount of money.
