BYU Basketball will reportedly face Providence Friars in the Big 12/Big East battle.

According to Jon Rothstein, BYU basketball will face Providence in the Big 12/Big East clash next season. The Cougars will travel across the country to take on the Friars in Rhode Island. BYU-Providence is one of 11 Big 12/Big East games. The remaining reported matchups were Baylor at UConn and Kansas at Creighton.

  • Kansas State at St. John’s
  • Xavier at TCU
  • Cincinnati at Villanova
  • BYU at Providence
  • Oklahoma State at Seton Hall
  • Georgetown at West Virginia
  • DePaul at Texas Tech

Last season, Providence ended 21-14 overall. The Friars had a little bit of a run in the Big East tournament, defeating Georgetown and Creighton to go to the semifinals against Marquette. They fell to Marquette and were seeded third in the NIT. They were eliminated from the National Invitation Tournament in the first round by Boston College.
