Nadal, 38, will make his fourth and last Olympic participation. Nadal has already enjoyed great success on the Olympic stage, winning a singles gold medal in Beijing in 2008 and a doubles gold medal with Marc Lopez in Rio in 2016.

And, while Nadal hasn’t won a trophy since the 2022 French Open, owing to serious injury concerns, he still has an impressive Olympic CV, for which Alcaraz has nothing but admiration and respect.

“I am not nervous right now. I’ll be ready when the time comes. And, of course, he’s already had this experience; he knows what it’s like to compete in the Olympics and win gold medals in both singles and doubles. “I’m new, the rookie here, so I have to keep my mouth shut and just listen to him,” Alcaraz explained.
