Chase Elliott: This is just something I have stored in my thoughts and am expressing now, if anything is to…

Chase Elliott reacts to ‘Chase’ joining Joe Gibbs Racing in 2025.

Chase Elliott joining Joe Gibbs Racing? That is something that Christopher Bell believes is possible! In his press conference on Friday afternoon, Bell mistakenly mentioned when “Chase” will join Joe Gibbs Racing in 2025.

Bell was referring to Chase Briscoe, who is slated to replace Martin Truex Jr. in the No. 19 car next season. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver was not referring to Elliott, but the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series champion was queried about the comment. According to Hendrick Motorsports, Elliott has been in the limelight this week because to a variety of silly season speculations.

“Yeah, I heard about that,” Elliott said. “It was funny. The boss actually sent me a message about another, I’m not sure who sent it to him, but it was all kinds of stuff; he sent me this screenshot that I was leaving and going somewhere and was gonna own a team. There’s been all kinds of stuff, evidently, going on that I didn’t know I was doing this week.”

“I guess I’m headed to go drive for [Joe Gibbs Racing] now, too. I don’t think so, if I am, I didn’t know about it. I felt bad for [Christopher Bell], such an honest mistake, you could tell. It was such a genuine, he just slipped up. Excited for [Chase Briscoe], though. I think that’ll be a really good opportunity for him. Hate that Bell was the one to break the news, I’m sure he got in trouble for that. It’s all good. It was gonna come out eventually.”

Elliott could join Joe Gibbs Racing or own a Cup Series team? Neither will happen, but it has been a fun 72 hours as “Chase” is even more linked to Joe Gibbs Racing than ever. Instead, Elliott’s place at Hendrick Motorsports is secured for a long time as he looks to extend his points lead in USA TODAY 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway this weekend.
