During a recent interview with Fox Sports about his upcoming race at Bristol with JRM, Junior mentioned that the 2024 Bristol race could be his last NASCAR event. He acknowledged that racing at his age is a significant commitment and admitted that he has not yet made a decision about retiring from NASCAR.
Junior finished his announcing duties with NBC at the end of last season and will join the Amazon-TNT partnership beginning in 2025. However, because he has no plans for 2024, he misses being in the booth and calling the races.
In the same interview, the Hall of Fame member talked about how he’s getting ready for his new broadcasting role with NASCAR’s streaming partners for the 2025 season. It’ll be interesting to see how the former Xfinity Series winner adjusts to his new role.
