Denny Hamlin, like his fans, was excited for the unveiling of the new 23XI Racing headquarters. He reportedly visited the construction site frequently to check on the development. Now that parts of the new office are accessible to the public, Hamlin has taken a break. In a recent SiriusXM NASCAR interview, he expressed his relief that it is finally open and that he can now focus on more essential matters.
Denny Hamlin wants to focus on his score right now.
Denny Hamlin appears to have completed a marathon in order to get the facility operational. From directly building the blueprint influenced by Mercedes F1 and other NASCAR racing teams, notably Joe Gibbs Racing, to dealing with the day-to-day grind of being a boss, it left him exhausted. There wasn’t much time to relax between racing, monitoring the headquarters building, recording his podcast, and other activities.
Now that the facility has opened, Hamlin expressed his relief on SiriusXM NASCAR radio. “It’s really fulfilling, and I can take a breath now. We’ve been talking every offseason, right? What is the most recent building update? What are you doing now that you’re off? I’m choosing the countertops, right? You are not choosing out the carpet. I am done. I’m finished with this place and all the minor details. I can now take a breath. And, like, let these guys continue to get better concentration on my driving,” Hamlin said, apparently relieved after doing what Michael Jordan had requested him to do and returning his focus to the track.
But that’s not it! Denny Hamlin is finally catching a break and looking forward to hitting the links again, as he revealed, “That’s the most important thing [getting the golf score back]. I gotta get back to golf course because I’ve had no days off. I think two years and five years. And finally, now I’m– making Fridays my day. I can do whatever I want to do.”
And while he is mentally relieved, he’s clear-eyed about the reality of his investment in the new 23XI Racing headquarters not paying off immediately. Hamlin seems prepared for the long haul, indicating he’s in the racing business for the long run.
