Are the Miami Dolphins offering Tua Tagovailoa another veteran wide receiver?
He has Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, but will Tua Tagovailoa add another veteran wide receiver?
According to Ari Meirov, who covers the NFL for the 33rd Team, the Miami Dolphins have extended a contract offer to Odell Beckham Jr. Meirov learned the information from Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel, as negotiations began.
Last year, Tagovailoa enjoyed his greatest season as an NFL starting quarterback.
He showed he could remain healthy by playing a career-high 17 games and led the Dolphins to the playoffs. Tagovailoa led the league in passing yards (4,624) and ranked in the top ten among quarterbacks in various categories. He was tied for seventh in touchdown passes (29), fifth in completion percentage (69.3%), tenth in quarterback rating (60.8), and fifth in passer rating (101.7).
The former Alabama quarterback made his first Pro Bowl appearance in 2023. Tagovailoa’s long-term contract situation is improving, but adding Beckham might push him to even higher levels of production. Despite some injuries, Beckham is a three-time Pro Bowl pick, two-time second-team All-Pro, and former NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
He captured a Super Bowl ring with the Los Angeles Rams in 2021.
The 31-year-old and former first-round pick of the 2014 NFL Draft has had five 1,000-yard seasons in 10 years. He’s played with the New York Giants, Cleveland Browns, Rams, and Baltimore Ravens. Beckham would be a very nice addition for Tagovailoa and the Dolphins if they can get him.
