Prior to finishing this series against their division opponents, the Houston Astros will be without their ace, who has returned home to be evaluated by team doctors.
To begin the season, the Houston Astros’ starting rotation has suffered several injuries, with ace Justin Verlander and journeyman Jose Urquidy both on the injured list.
Verlander is projected to return sometime this month, barring any setbacks, while Urquidy’s recovery may take a little longer.
With those two out for the time being, others on the staff had to step up in their absence, starting with their star Framber Valdez.
