John Force has been obliged to rehab center back as team need to be clear regarding his health as…….

National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) legend John Force left a Virginia hospital for a rehab centre on Tuesday, but his recuperation is far from complete, according to his staff.

John Force Racing provided an update on the Funny Car driver, who was still recovering after a tragic incident at the Virginia Nationals last month. The team stated that his family saw Force’s release from the hospital as a “big step forward in the healing process.”

“However, medical staff emphasised that the path ahead remains arduous,” the team added. Force is coping with cognitive and behavioural signs of a traumatic brain injury. While he has been able to communicate with family and colleagues, enjoy the companionship of grandchildren Jacob and Noah Hood, and celebrate a Monday birthday with daughter Brittany, he still experiences moments of disorientation.

“Family members stated that no timeframe had been established for Force’s stay at the new institution, which was chosen based on its experience in treating other racing car drivers with comparable conditions.”

According to Force’s staff, the driver is currently recovering from a serious head injury suffered in the incident.

Force was driving his Funny Car on the circuit at the Virginia Nationals when his engine burst, sending him veering past the centre line and into a wall. His truck went back over the line and collided with the guard wall again.

The team stated that his car experienced an engine explosion when he was racing at almost 300 mph.
