Leeds United understand the loanee’s ‘asking price’ as a £37 million ex-target is about to become available.

Leeds United are prepared to go to Sheffield Wednesday on Friday night for their fourth game in just ten days. The Whites have had a hectic year, but their results have remained consistent, with the only blemish on their impressive record being a draw at Huddersfield Town.

Since the turn of the year, the Whites have won 10 of 11 Championship games, and while Wednesday is also in a good patch, Leeds will expect to win at Hillsborough. Here are some of the biggest news in the lead-up to the battle.

Leeds United might have to spend up to £15m to secure the services of Joe Rodon next season, according to The Sun. Rodon has impressed at Elland Road since joining on loan from Tottenham Hotspur at the start of the season, with his consistently strong performances at the back helping Leeds to boast the best defensive record in the division.

As a result, with Spurs reportedly interested in selling the Wales international, Leeds have been heavily linked with making his loan move permanent in the summer if they win promotion to the Premier League. However, it appears that they will have to pay between £10 million and £15 million to sign him, despite the fact that the defender has only one season left on his contract in north London.

Previous reports have hinted that Leeds aren’t the only club interested in signing Rodon this summer, with his performances in the Championship not going ignored.

Diallo set to depart?

Ex-Leeds United target Amad Diallo could be set to leave Old Trafford permanently this summer. That’s according to Manchester Evening News’ Manchester United man Samuel Luckhurst, who is predicting Diallo to become a casualty should the Red Devils splash the cash under their new ownership in the summer.

Leeds have been linked with a move for the winger, who cost Man United a reported fee of £19m, potentially rising to £37m, over the last two transfer windows as the Ivorian continues to struggle for consistent minutes under Erik ten Hag. Should Leeds win promotion to the Premier League this season, then, he could be one of the names made available to them in the summer.
