Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel is ranked among the top ten NFL coaches. He is numbered…

Is Mike McDaniel of the Miami Dolphins already a top-ten NFL head coach?

Mike McDaniel, the Miami Dolphins’ head coach, is well-liked among his peers. Several Dolphins free agents have recently stated that McDaniel’s personality, which shone during the team’s appearance on HBO’s Hard Knocks last season, played a significant role in their choice to sign with Miami this summer.

On Thursday, Pro Football Network announced their rankings of all of the NFL’s head coaches, and Mike McDaniel was ranked tenth.

Here’s what PFN writer Dallas Robinson said about Miami’s head coach:

“Mike McDaniel has revitalised Tua Tagovailoa’s career while transforming the Dolphins into a true offensive powerhouse. His distinct personality is obviously advantageous, as players appear to respond to his particular brand, which blends empathy and a desire to be forthright.”

In McDaniel’s two seasons as Miami Dolphins head coach, the team has a 20-14 regular season record and two playoff appearances. However, the squad has lost both Super Wild Card games, falling to the Buffalo Bills two years ago and the Kansas City Chiefs this year.

If Mike McDaniel can get his team over the hump and finally bless Dolphins’ fans with a playoff victory for the first time since the Bill Clinton presidential administration, he will surely climb even higher in Pro Football Network’s rankings, but for now, a top-ten ranking after just two years as a head coach is an accomplishment that McDaniel should be proud of.
