The Miami Dolphins have received an encouraging injury update from their 24-year-old.

The Miami Dolphins featured one of the league’s strongest pass rushes, finishing first in quarterback hits, third in pressures, third in pressure percentage, third in sacks, and tenth in pass rush victory rate.

Despite boasting one of the league’s greatest pass rushes, the Dolphins were eliminated from the playoffs early, thanks in part to injuries at the outside linebacker position, where four players, including two starters, sustained season-ending injuries.

The Miami Dolphins’ leading sacker suffered a knee injury in Week 17.

Bradley Chubb ruptured his ACL during garbage time against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 17. Chubb’s expected return date is unclear.

Their other starter provided an optimistic injury update not long ago.

The starting outside linebacker for the Miami Dolphins provided a positive injury update.

Jaelan Phillips ruptured his Achilles against the New York Jets in Week 12. He provided an encouraging injury update and expressed a desire to be ready by Week 1.

“Rehab has been going well. Simply attacking it every day. I’ll definitely be back healthy for the season, and hopefully stay healthy throughout the season.”

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have released Shaq Barrett.

Barrett signed a one-year, $7 million contract with a signing bonus of $5.54 million and a guarantee of $6.75 million. In 2024, his base salary will be $1.21 million, with a cap hit of $2,553,294. His contract expires in 2025, resulting in a $4,432,000 dead cap hit.

Barrett will be on his third team in his ninth season in the NFL, with 400 tackles, 73 for a loss, 125 quarterback hits, 59 sacks, three interceptions, and 22 forced fumbles to his name.

If Chubb or Phillips are unable to play early in the season, Barrett will most likely start.

What if Bradley Chubb and Jaelan Phillips miss time in 2024?

If Phillips and Chubb miss time next season, the Dolphins will rely on Shaq Barrett and Cameron Goode.

Goode will be in his third season in the NFL. He appeared in 17 games last season, recording six tackles and two quarterback hits. In Week 18, he tore his patellar tendon, which ended his season.
