The Michigan Wolverine quarterback was arrested today for operating…

Denard Robinson, a Michigan football staff member and former quarterback, has been arrested for OWI.

Michigan football has had an exciting summer, with the national title celebration, coaching changes, and supporters gripping onto their hats when it comes to the transfer portal.

Unfortunately, not all of the news about the Wolverines has been football-related.

This is the situation with the coaches and staff. Sherrone Moore had recruited Greg Scruggs to teach the defensive line, and only days after his official announcement, he was caught for drunk driving, prompting his resignation two days later. Denard Robinson, a Michigan fan favorite, was arrested at 3:05 a.m. for driving while inebriated. He is currently on the recruiting staff.

Denard Robinson, a Michigan staffer, was detained early this morning in Ann Arbor for driving while inebriated. A police spokesman says @MLive Robinson, the team’s assistant director of player personnel, was involved in a single-vehicle incident around 3:05 a.m.

This is not Robinson’s first offseason incident involving a vehicle. While he was not found to be intoxicated in his previous incident, he was allegedly sleeping at the wheel during his stint with the Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL.

Authorities aided Denard Robinson and a female passenger early Sunday after the Jaguars running back crashed his Chevrolet Impala into a retention pond on Jacksonville’s Southside, according to a Sheriff’s Office crash report.

Robinson, 25, was asleep behind the wheel when an officer arrived, but officials ruled that he was not drunk and should not face a DUI prosecution, according to the report.

According to the report, the responding officer arrived at the pond near Beach and Southside boulevards around 4:20 a.m. following the incident and noted that both occupants inside looked to be asleep.

Moore will face a more difficult decision than Scruggs did. Robinson is a fan favorite from his time as Michigan’s starting quarterback in the early 2010s, and he was praised when he returned to Ann Arbor as an off-field staff member.
