The Providence Friars’ game versus BYU has been postponed, and a new date has been announced.

The Providence Friars face the BYU Cougars in a loaded 2024 Big 12-Big East matchup.

The Providence College Friar men’s basketball team will face the Brigham Young University Cougars in the 2024 Big 12-BIG EAST Battle on Tuesday, December 3, at the Amica Mutual Pavilion.

The game time will be determined at a later date. All games of the Big 12-BIG EAST Battle will take place from December 3 to December 8.

The Friars have a 0-2 record against BYU, with the Cougars winning the first meeting 81-78 on December 28, 1962, in the Palestra in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. BYU won 66-52 in Provo, Utah, on December 21, 1982. The Friars have a 3-2 record in the Big 12-BIG EAST battle.

Since the original agreement, each conference has added new member schools. For the second consecutive season, the Battle will include 11 matchups. The Big East will host six games in 2024-25, while the Big 12 will host five. The 2024 matches will include seven teams ranked in the final AP poll of the 2023-24 season, including defending national champion Connecticut. In the 2024 NCAA Tournament, five of the eleven teams that participated advanced to the Sweet 16.

The Battle pairings are decided jointly by the two conferences, with the home club selecting the venue for its game. The home team’s national television rights holder, FOX Sports for the BIG EAST, will select the broadcast arrangements for the matchups.

Game times and television networks will be announced when available.
