Devin Carter, the Big East Player of the Year and Providence guard, said Wednesday that he will enter the NBA draft. Carter informed ESPN that he is foregoing his senior year.

Carter is ranked No. 17 in ESPN’s top 100 NBA draft prospects. Carter averaged 19.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.8 steals in 33 starts for the Friars this season, as they finished 21-14 (10-10 in the Big East). Providence fell to Boston College in the first round of the NIT.

Carter averaged 14.1 points in 96 career games (73 starts) at South Carolina (2021-22) and Providence. Carter is the son of Anthony Carter, who played 13 seasons in the NBA and is an assistant coach with the Memphis Grizzlies.
