REPORT: Green Bay Packers QB dissatisfied with contract negotiations and plans to quit if new arrangement is not reached.

Jordan Love: Packers are’motivated’ to extend their contract, but quarterback must be patient.

The Green Bay Packers are “motivated” to finalize a contract extension with quarterback Jordan Love, who is apparently ready to be “patient” while other signal-callers in the league receive their own salary raises and help reset the QB market. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler broke the news on NFL Live (4:53).

“The sense is around the league is that Green Bay is motivated to do a deal, to do an extension with Jordan Love,” Fowler stated. “I’ve also been told that Love is willing to be patient here because there are a lot of quarterbacks who could be paid soon.

“Jared Goff in Detroit; Tua Tagovailoa in Miami; and Trevor Lawrence in Jacksonville.” These will create an even larger market for a QB landscape, with some of these guys earning more than $50 million per year.

And so, if you’re Jordan Love, you can relax a little bit, but the feeling is that there’s enough mutual interest to get this done…” Love, who was taken in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft, spent three seasons as Aaron Rodgers’ backup quarterback before taking over in 2023.

He signed a one-year, $13.5 million contract extension in March 2023, which would take him through 2024 campaign.

Obviously, it’s imperative for the Packers to get a deal done with Love, who just led the Packers to the NFC Divisional round in his first year as the team’s starter.

Love completed 64.2 percent of his passes for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns and just 11 interceptions. He excelled in two playoff games as well with 466 yards and five scores (two picks).

The young Packers shined when the lights were brightest in Dallas, dominating the Cowboys 48-32 in the wild card round. They nearly picked off the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Divisional round as well before falling 24-21.

The future is bright in Green Bay with Love leading the way. Ultimately, it seems to be a matter of if (and not when) Love lands a lucrative long-term deal to remain in town.
