Sad news:Third Death on Matterhorn This Week

Hours before, rescuers from Air Zermatt had spotted the lifeless bodies of two other climbers at the base of the north side. Both accidents took place on the Hornli (NE) ridge, considered the normal route on the mountain

The third victim was reportedly a solo climber who fell while descending from the summit, some 800 meters above the ground. Another climber who was on the same route called the emergency services, the Ansa news agency reported.There are no details yet about the causes of the two accidents this week.
