The New York Yankees were hoping Carlos Rodon would be the perfect backup to Gerrit Cole when they signed him to a six-year, $162 million contract. If the Yankees’ 2023 campaign taught them anything, it was that Rodon needs to improve.
In short, it was a very disappointing year for him.
However, more background regarding his difficulties is required. His injuries were the most obvious cause of his subpar performance.
