Steelers’ Russell Wilson is ecstatic with Pittsburgh-Patrick Queen’s $41 million contract.

The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to make significant moves in NFL free agency, signing standout former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Patrick Queen to a free-agent contract. And Russell Wilson, the new quarterback, is revved up!

“Filed from @mspears96: Ravens free-agent LB Patrick Queen told @mspears96 that he plans to sign a three-year, $41 million contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers,” ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter tweeted on Tuesday.

Wilson tweeted “QUEEEEENNN! @Patrickqueen_” shortly after Shefty announced the news.

Steelers’ Patrick Queen becomes the Joker after leaving the Ravens for a rival.

Queen had his own reaction to the transaction, tweeting a GIF of Heath Ledger’s Joker with the words “And here we go.”

This is a significant signing for the Steelers, who have a lengthy history of dominant inside linebackers on their roster. It also weakens one of their AFC North opponents, which is an added advantage.

Queen was one of the defensive jewels of NFL free agency this offseason. The 2020 first-round pick of the Ravens made his first Pro Bowl this season and was second-team All-Pro. He also fills up the stat sheet in ways many off-ball linebackers can’t. Through four seasons Queen has 454 tackles, 37 tackles for a loss, 33 QB hits, 15 passes defended, four interceptions, five forced fumbles, six fumble recoveries, and 13.5 sacks.

The Steelers signing Patrick Queen comes on the heels of their big Russell Wilson swing and gives superstar TJ Watt a star contributor on the next level of the defense. Plus, Queen now joins one of the most illustrious groups in NFL history: The Steelers linebacker corps.

Before Queen donned the black and yellow, Hall of Famers such as Jack Lambert and Jack Ham held the role. In recent years, Pro Bowlers James Farrior, Levon Kirkland, Lawrence Timmons, and LaMarr Woodley have all been standouts in their own incarnations of the Steel Curtain defense.
