“Surprising” – Sunderland star player issues claim regarding Mick Beale.

Pierre Ekwah stated that the sacking of Michael Beale surprised him and the rest of the Sunderland players.

Mike Dodds, who previously managed Queens Park Rangers and Glasgow Rangers, has returned to command the Black Cats for the past two games.

Beale was in charge of Sunderland for just over 60 days, and his final match was a defeat to Tony Mowbray, the man he replaced.

A change in manager may be either a blessing or a curse for many players. They’ll get another chance to prove themselves worthy, and with all of the chopping and changing that’s been going on at the Stadium of Light this season, the Sunderland players have had enough of practice.

Ekwah, who assisted Luke O’Nien’s goal in Dodds’ first game back in command, has spoken out on Beale’s dismissal following the defeat to Birmingham City.

The French midfielder told the Sunderland Echo that the resignation of his former manager surprised him.

“It’s always surprising when a gaffer needs to go,” remarked the 22-year-old.”It’s occurred twice this season, so it’s really surprising. As I already stated, in football, such incidents occur; you must move on and focus on the next one.”
