Jaylin Galloway, a budding star with the Sydney Kings, is poised to join NBA powerhouse Milwaukee.
According to a well-known NBA insider, Sydney Kings emerging talent Jaylin Galloway will join Eastern Conference powerhouse Milwaukee.
Shams Charania of The Athletic broke the news of Galloway’s potential move early Saturday morning, saying that the Bucks intend to sign the 21-year-old to a two-way NBA contract.
A two-way contract allows organizations to develop players while rostering them on both the NBA and its G League affiliate.
The Milwaukee Bucks are planning to sign forward Jaylin Galloway on a two-way NBA contract out of the Sydney Kings in the National Basketball League, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. The 6-foot-7 wing has been an emerging player in Sydney over the last four years.
The 6-foot-7 wing, who has averaging 10.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game for the Kings this season, is expected to sign a two-year contract, according to ESPN.
Galloway will join the Bucks for the balance of the 2023-24 season and the 2024-25 season, according to ESPN.
ESPN’s Olgun Uluc later revealed that prior to his release by the Bucks, Galloway signed a new three-year contract with the Kings, who retain his NBL rights until the 2026-27 season in case he decides to return to the league.
It follows a post on Substack by Marc Stein, who stated that Galloway was “said to be generating NBA interest” following his most recent season with the Kings, who were eliminated from the NBL Finals after losing 83-76 to the New Zealand Breakers in the Play-In game.
Stein stated that Galloway is “regarded as a player with considerable defensive potential,” noting that he played for the Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA Summer League last July.
“It was good. I expected it to be a little fast paced, but it is pretty similar to the NBL, so it wasn’t too surprising,” Galloway told NBL Media at the time.
“It is a learning experience, and I am taking in all the information that I can.”
