“I Want To Be In Pittsburgh For The Rest Of My Career.” Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Pat Freiermuth wants to continue his career with the team and is looking forward to the 2024 season with quarterback Russell Wilson.

I want to continue playing for Pittsburgh because it reminds me of where I come from and how I was raised. Growing up together, experiencing both happy and bad times. I believe that the Pittsburgh media, fandom, and everyone works together to accomplish this. I am really at ease and comfortable in Pittsburgh.”

The excellent Steelers tight end also expressed his delight about catching passes from freshly signed Russell Wilson.

A detail he learned not from the team, but from his fiancée, who spotted the breaking news.

“My girlfriend woke me up and said, ‘You guys got Russell Wilson.'” So that’s how I found out,” Freiermuth explained.

Freiermuth wasn’t the only one ecstatic with the news. Calvin Austin and Van Jefferson, both wide receivers, were found to have taken part in Wilson’s secret training session in Southern California.

Wilson arrived in Pittsburgh after being released by the Denver Broncos in March. The Steelers didn’t stop there; they also acquired Justin Fields from the Chicago Bears.

According to Head Coach Mike Tomlin, Wilson is in a ‘pole position’ to be the starting quarterback in 2024.

Freiermuth, 25, is coming off an injury-plagued 2023 season. He has 32 receptions in just nine games, totaling 308 yards and two touchdowns for his team.

Freiermuth recognizes that the 2024 season is a crucial period being his contract year. It’s not all unease as he’s set to work with not just Wilson but also new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith.
